'To the Wonder' is a rumination on the nature of relationships, both physical and spiritual. Ben Affleck plays a man torn between the demands of his professional and personal life, while his lover (Olga Kurylenko) attempts to cope with the difficulties of leaving her native France for America. Javier Bardem is their priest, whose struggles with his own faith underpin the challenges of modern life. More intimate than 'The Tree of Life', Malick’s film is an elusive and visually arresting drama.
