Written and directed by Oscar winner Jane Campion (‘The Piano’), ‘Bright Star’ is a visually sumptuous period drama based on the three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats (the powerful Ben Whishaw, ‘Perfume’) and Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish, ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’), which was cut tragically short by Keats’ untimely death aged 25. Campion draws complex and compelling performances from the leads to create a sensual and deeply romantic drama.
